Reality still exists

We finished our 2nd day of class. We start at 7:45 and go until 4. So, it makes for a REALLY long day. Especially for those of us who can't sit still that long. But, on the up side, we will be completely done with all of our classes at the end of the month. We already have a final for one of our classes next Friday. Even better - we will be done with our Math class in a matter of 4 days. But we will be working for 8 hours a day. Blah. It's okay though....only 3 more weeks.
Our Literacy teacher came in today. She's worked in NZ schools for years and years and is so knowledgable. She knows quite a bit about American schools as well, which helps when she is explaining things. We talked mostly about NZ schools today and how their education system works, their curriculum, as well as some Maori customs and such in the schools. She taught us some Maori words and songs that we will need to know. She also had us sing the NZ national anthem in both English and Maori. Kind of fun.
I talked Mekelle into getting up at 6 a.m. this morning and going running with me. It's perfect weather for it and it felt good to be able to run outdoors again!
Jules is feeding us very well - too well almost. She's a fantastic cook.
We are already making plans for the weekend. Friday night a few of us in the group are going to hit up downtown Auckland and see some new things. Saturday morning there is a YSA activity. I think we're going to the beach for the day. Should be fun to get to know some more kids our age.
